Attire will be PT kit + Polished boots.
Bring writting materials and your brains. < By kenghui mdm.

No transport provided!

*FAC people who are attending the CNY celebrations, are to bring also zone tee, long jeans/pants + covered shoes!*

there will be a 13 feb 2011 CNY celebration at NHQ.
from 2pm to 4,30pm. Cadets to be seated by 1.45pm.
Attire will be Zone tee + Long jeans/pants with covered shoes.

I think most of you guys also know that tomorrow(1st Aug) is the AGI selection/training again.

But this time, is holding at Damai Secondary. Which is our school.

So, all 7corps from zone 10 will be coming to our school.
I hope that you guys can be in your best behavior tomorrow.

Also, please guide the others on anyway they need.
As, its our school, we should know better the way/place than them. okays?

Tomorrow will be a long full day.
9am to 5pm. I hope you people can endure and turn up tomorrow.

Well, anyway, this few weeks training i am nit around with you guys for the training.

I am so sorry about it. I will be back after NDP . (:
I hope you guys did listen to your seniors.

And i shall explain to you guys the purpose for you guys to wear FULL u during this few trainings.
Because, you guys need to know how to wear your uniform properly.
I can see thhat even some of the seniors, do not know how to wear their full u with care and respect.
I know its hot with the unifrom on.
Unless you guys know how to wear the Full u properly, Then we will change to half u (:

There are some rules i need you guys to know when you are wearing your full u.

1) Barie must be on all times when you are under the sun.
2) No dropping of barrie.
3) No carrying of bags when u are in full u .
4) no necklace or any other jewelery.
5) Your belt , the metal must be on your left the loop.
(Whoever found breaking these rules, prepare to do the punishment. (: These are very serious offences. IF i were to see it another time, GG (: )

Ofcos, there are still many more rules.
I will brief you guys the rules for wearing full u once again okays?
I am quite busy this few weeks. Hope you guys can understand.
I can say that , your uniform are not up to standard .
Seriously, not even 50%.
I hope you guys can work on it.

When the juniors are wearing FUll u , I HOPE that the seniors can set a very good example too.

hey people. As you guys know that SJAB Day is on the 24June 2010.
Without fail, we will always have our SJAB parade .
Before the parade, we do need trainings right?
The actual parade will be on the 30June (Wednesday)
Its a fixed date set by the zone, we cant change.
So, we need a training on 28 & 29 June.

Training 1:
28 June 2010 (Monday)
Attire: PT kit (With nametag)

Training 2:
29 June 2010 (Tuesday)

For the sec1s, i know that you guys are still worrying about your uniform. But, just come for the training first. ( :

There will be a heart 2 heart mosaic making from 21 June to 25 june.

Its a Monday to Friday.

Hey people! We just came back from the FAC .

Things was tough.

We strike. Also the last year that your sec3s will be in the competition.

At last .... After years ...

We finally won something back...

Damai NC team 2010 got 3rd for footdrill !

OMG ! Shocking right .. ?

I know everyone of us had expected the result to be like last year ...

Even me too.

But.... NC team was all shocked..

Because we screw up on our footdrill. We really did screw up..

Anyway, great job everyone.
We are like only 0.5 marks away from 2nd position you know ! Agrh !

But, we sec3s manage to won something back fer Damai..

We also hope that our juniors will help us to keep this work up.. Dun let it go down..

The whole thing is like.. When they are giving out the 3rd in footdrill for NC team...

They suddenly called out Damai Secondary School...

We was like, OMG .. Did they make a mistake ?

June holiday have just started. Some of you must be enjoying your holiday now right?

Fyi, all of you should know that this coming monday is the Chinese O level GCE exam .

Means our sec4 and sec5 are taking their paper liao.

So, i hope you guys can encourage them by messaging them.

Next suday will be 6 june , our zone 10 FAC competition .

Everyone are welcome to come down to support our AC & NC team.

For AC team , Kok Wai Gie will be leading.

For NC team, An Xin Yun (which is me) will be leading.

A lot of encouragement needed from all of you.

Even though some of you might already know what will the result be like,

however, i still wan to say that ..

It is not about the competition result.. However, it is about the effort we put in.

This will be my last year in FAC , leading the NC team. same goes to all your sec3s.

as MrTan's rule is that only Sec 2 & sec3 are allow to join FAC.

Well, i started leading NC team since last year.

Yup, it ofcos contains a lot of memories for all of us the sec3s .

Even though the result is not we want.

But, it still gave us(ur sec3s) a lot of memories in it.

Hello people. I know the SJAB blog is quite dead. I will somehow update today.

June holidays are coming. But, some of your sec3s seniors will be going ferr the ANCO camp.

Is so call a sgt camp. If we can pass, we will get our SGT rank.

Well, today was the pre-camp ferr ANCO.

Yupp, we felt scare, nervous, worry . But , we still make it ?

We(sec3s) went ANCO to be train to be a NCO.

Learn new skills..

However, the officers there are friendly.

Expect ferr some? Hahaha .

Well, as ferr myself.

I shall share with my feeling with you guys just now when i am in the pre-camp.

I felt really scare... As, i am the only one from Damai in my section.

But, actually all my section mates are very nice.

Expect we are all just , shy to talk?

This year ANCO can say that there are a numbers of different from last year.

We need to plan 2 OOA instead of 1.

Then we got to choose our own MOI topic.

The MOI topic don't have to be first-aid.

Anything about SJAB also can. (:

(Shall not go on i guesS? If not is like my personal blog. )

Ofcos, we are scare to go ANCO.

We even feel like backing out just after the pre-camp today.

But, why din your sec3s seniors did so ?

For you. For all of you guys.

We go ANCO to learn new skills, how to be a leader/NCO.

Although it (sounds) scary , but .. Yahh .

We really hhope that cadets can encourage us(sec3s) for the ANCO camp.

I know that MOST of us is busy this week with the speech day rehearsal all day long.

Yesterday was the actual day of the speech day.

I really think that you guys did a great job.

Keep it up .

And as you all of you guys know that your sec4s NCOs/Seniors had stepped down already.

The sec3s are taking over you guys now.

We really hope that during weekly training, the sec2s can buck yourself up.

What we can see from all of the sec2s is that, You all din really give in your best.

You guys can tell me the rules in the squa.

1) No facial expression.

2) No talking.

3) No moving around or even SHAKING here & there.

4) Don't stand on one leg.

Sec2s are ALL expected to FOLLOW all the squa rules.

Sec2s are all also expect to set a good role moder for the sec1s.

We totally can't see your effort in the weekly training.

We don't expect anything from you YET.

We just wan to see your effort.

During normal time, we can be your close friends or whatever.

But During training, We ARE YOUR seniors.

We really hope you can really give us all the respect we want.

I don't care you are having mood swing or whatever.

If you are gonna tell you you are having mood swing and no mood to do the training,

thats means I ALSO have the right to mood swing and scold you guys all i want just because i mood swinging.

And one more point. Please check the weekly training YOURSELF at the SJAB notice board.

We seniors dun have the whole day time just to message you and tell you about the training.

Hey guys! Sorry for the late update. As you know the camp is coming! Here are something we wish you to observe:

Before the camp

Do get all your stuff ready early; do not get it last minute.
Make sure that you have declared any allergies or illness to the NCOs way before the camp, to allow us to have ample time to prepare.
Remember to bring those notes for the camp; you will be using it often in the camp.
Bring enough clothing. Leave 1 extra clothes for emergency.
Revise your notes before the camp. You don't have time for revision during the camp.
Make sure you made your payment for the camp ASAP.
Lastly DO NOT gets sick!

During the camp

Discipline must be observed strictly.
Move fast, answer loud. So as to not to delay any programmed.
When a question is posted, you have to answer to the asker.
When moving, either run or March is allowed. Marching is only for 1 hour after meals.
Neat attire must be observed. No tucking out of shirt, no ankle socks, no earrings, necklace or any kind if jellery is allowed.
No sunglasses or transition lenses.
Be punctual every time
Respect all senior regardless of ranks
Report to safety NCO if you are not feeling well, seek consent of NCO in charge first.
Do take care of each other since you all are staying in one roof together.
During exams, do not get nervous. You tend to forget something.
DO NOT scream or shout unnecessary during the camp. This will disturb others.

Attire

I believe that this is not the first time that a senior had to brief on your attire, which was with your full-u.Presently the breifing is on your pt attire.

Shirt tuck-in.

No fringes or any small strands of hairs “flying” around.

Nursing (girls) with long hair should bun their hair with hairnet in pt, and with an extra big hairnet covering all hair when in full/half-u.

No ear rings, earstuds or anything hanging on the ear

No necklaces, wristbands, bracelets or anything tying around the neck or wrist. Unless it is for religious purpose. (Try to keep it in your pocket)

Ambulance (boys) your hair should be cut neatly without any fringes touching your eyebrows, hair should not touch the collar of your uniform
NO ankle length socks.

Movement and Response

When you are in this CCA we expect your movement and response to be fast, loud and accurate. Take note the following things:

When u are moving from point to point, DON'T DRAG YOUR FEET, make sure you u are clear with the instructions before u move this applies to all instruction given by a NCO/IC. If you don’t understand, clarify with the NCO/IC.
Your standing/sitting posture should be straight up DON’T slouch you’ll look ugly.
When sitting at “attention” your wrist should be placed on your laps, back up straight.
Response should be made fast, loud, and firm. NOT slow, soft and slack. (You are NOT talking to your boy/girl friend.)
When the NCO/IC is asking a question, they want an answer, your opinion, that is the reason that u are punished for not giving us answer, volunteer etc.
If we ask a question you should answer truthfully, not the answer we want to hear.

Initiative (volunteerism)

In St John, when we want volunteers, always be ready. As long as you are ready to volunteer yourself to do face new task, even if you don’t know anything at all. You can ask the NCO/IC; in this way you can learn new things. Take note the following things:

Don’t be afraid to volunteer, the NCO/IC will be happy to teach you if you are not sure.
When you volunteer, do your best to finish the job. This is call task fulfillment. E.g. when you are the timer in the squad, you’ll make sure everybody can hear the timing by projecting your voice out loud.
Basically, everybody have to contribute, whether was it your “bang” on foot drill, your voice upon answering the questions of shouting the timing.

Respect

When you are in a squad, you have to look straight in front, not other place. By looking in front, you are giving the commander your attention, and it is a form of respect. You will find that you will not easily distract when you pay attention to the commander.
Similarly, you DON’T talk, laugh, move in a squad, this not only shows that you are not paying attention to the commander, and also not respecting the commander by not consulting him/her when you are under his/her charge!
When you are undercharge of somebody (you might not know, but it is when in class, you are undercharge of the teacher, similarly this also applies to CCA) you have to get his/hers permission do anything. The person in charge needs to be well-informed about your whereabouts and your action so that he/she is responsible too (not only yourself)
When you saw a teacher, regardless of what CCA is him/her is in-charged of you must greet. This is because the first rule applies “be polite to the others and the others will be polite to you in return.”
When you saw the teacher in-charge (TIC) you have to greet them by their rank or how they should be addressed (e.g. tan is a CSO5 officer, everybody have to greet him as ‘sir’)
In classrooms, be quiet classrooms are place which important information are meant to pass around, not for you to gossip, classrooms are not market. When there is no lecturer (Teachers/NCOs/ICs) in the room, you are to quickly settle down in the class and wait quietly for the lecturer to come unless permission given when he/she enters the class 1 volunteer will signal everybody to stand up and greet, regardless of whom the lecturer is.
When you are talking to any CCA-mates, seniors you DON’T roll your eyes. This is EXTREMELY rude, and shows that you have not even slightly respect to the person talking to you.
Lastly, remember, that if you are rude to somebody. It does not reflect well on you. Neither your parents, school, teachers, friends.

Finally ANCO has over and the sec 4s have stepped down. I must say that this year is very rush as the sec3s are taking over earlier, and some may not be used to it. There will be a lot of changes in Damai SJAB, let's hope that year 2007 will be a fruitful year. Sec 1s and 2s, we also need your help by co-operating with us. There will not be Damai SJAB if there is no sec 1s and 2s. So co-orporate and respect your sections NCOs and ICs.

*Sec 1s and 2s please remember that this Thursday there will be a training session from 2pm to 4pm pt attire bring your water bottle. Attendance is COMPULSORY

hellos! this is probably the last post that the sec 4s are posting, provided that lim hee or cravens still want to add another post. :D

Most of you might be wondering why the sec 4s step down earlier this year. one of the reasons is that 'o' levels are being pushed forward this year, so we need the time to study as our studies ain't that good. aother is that we felt that we cannot cope with st john day due to the lack of manpower. it isn't easy to plan stuffs with only 3 people.

so thats two of the reasons. there may be other reasons.

okays.so i said that we lack of manpower. but please remember, a united-3-people committee is much more better than a 10-people committee that cannot communicate among each other. to me, teamwork is very amazing. without teamwork, there's a lot of things you can't do at all. you will know why in times to come if you find that there's to teamwork in all of you. take a step at a time, don't rush things. :D

whatever you do, remember : Rather fall with honor than succeed by fraud.

UNIFORM is part of us, is a respect towards st john. by having a full complete and neat attire shows how much you actually respect st john.

There are many parts of the uniform, namely:-

Beret
Blouse/Shirt
Skirt/Pants
Belt
Boots

there r certain standards to meet for every part. lets start from the first one.

Beret

Beret includes putting the crest on.

when crest is on, the Beret represents st john.
by placing Beret on the ground means that you have no form of respect to st john. (that explains why you are being punished when you drop your Beret)
Beret have to be kept clean at all time. (all dirt have to be removed. eg: white patches, dirt particles)

Blouse/Shirt

Shirt or Blouse have to be ironed properly.
a line must be seen at the sleeve of your shoulder.

collar must be standing and not ironed flat.

Skirts/Pants

Skirt or Pants have to be ironed properly too.
must be off appropriate length. (eg: not too long, not too short)

Belt

the crest is also present on your belt.
belt have to be seen when you are wearing half-u/full-u
metal at the tip of the belt must be seen

Boots

MUST be polished for every training.
not anyhow, but there's certain standard to follow.
the sides of the boots must be clean at all times.

i've got something to say about the camp other than what Lim Hee have mentioned.

Firstly, attitude. some of the cadets gave attitude during the camp. first day, the beginning of the camp, alot showed attitude. as i mentioned, before you attend the camp, think why are you attending the camp for. but did you do so? if you did, why do attitude still exist? i spoke to you all for about 3, 4 times. did you all listen to what i say, or you all just simply take it as im nagging? i thought, by the second day, your attitude would improve. yes, i do see that some of your attitude improved and i appreciated your effort. but i still do see some attitude remain the same and some, even worst. i believed your attitude will change by the last day. but no, it remained the same. this shows very clearly that you did not listen to what i say. or should i say, you didn't even BOTHER to listen to what i say. think about it. with that attitude, can you go far?

secondly, some of you mention include more games. we actually do have games on the last day for you all. but then again, did all of you show us that the effort you all put in makes you all deserve having fun? yes, some of you proved to us. but some of you didn't. just take the firedrill case for example. did you all perform well? first time, we forgive. but second time? its still the same. so, one for all, all for one. so one don't play, all don't play. hope all of you can understand.

thirdly, sorry to those who were sick and some too serious that they have to go home. sorry!!! we will have a make up session for you all though. to siti, shahidah and others who were feeling unwell during the camp, rest well and take care! speedy recovery to all!

Congratulation!! ! U have survive thru the camp.=D U pass because u have studied and of course your attitude and We really appreciate ur efforts =). At the same time, this is a piece of good news for those who have failed. we will have a period of probation so grab this last chance for u to prove urself. For those who have missed the exams with valid reasons, we will also give u a chance to perform (we will inform u latest in next year) so dun b too worried that u have lose a chance of promotion.

After the camp, what u have really learnt??? ask urself honestly!!!
Is it really the model answer: “I have learnt teamwork, co-operation…., sergeant!” (what we want is ur true answer)
Actions speak more than words. From the firedrill itself, we can already see that your answers are not true. These are just to answer our questions. In fact we concluded that your actions even show the opposite meaning of your answer. For eg: There are only 2 ambulances in the bunk but none of u takes the initiative to wake them and jus ran to the parade square just because u are told to assemble. Is this really right??? Think about it.

Some Ppl who passed is because their OA helped them but some ppl failed also because of their OA. (Btw, it takes up to 40% of overall!!).Thus, u need really ur section mates to help u to pass so dun think urself as an INDIVIDUAL only!!!
We hope u to see ur changes in the future.

Camp is just two days away! one question i would like to ask. are you all prepared for the camp? prepared for the camp as in prepared to be trained and strengthened to be a leader and not prepared for the punishments, exams, fun and "tortures" etc..

Before you go for the camp, ask yourself that question. and also..

what is it that you want to learn from this camp?
what is more important in this camp other than promotion?
how are you going to communicate and work as a team in the camp?

.... such questions are useful in helping you to get your mind set for the camp. what we want is you to have a positive thinking towards the camp. we want you to learn and gain more knowledge, having better teamwork among yourself.

COMMUNICATION

are you guys communicating well among yourselves. if there's no or little communication, will there be teamwork? will the ideas be shared? will you know exactly whats going on? can you even get things properly done?

communication is very important. if you do not have communication but you claim that there's teamwork, is this right? what's the real meaning of teamwork? there's no definite meaning. to me, teamwork needs communication. when everybody agrees on it, they will do the things they have to do very willingly and not do just for the sake of doing. right.. too long winded. shall stop here. :D

HELLOS!

so i have to create a new account and the previous post is gone! nevermind nevermind. i shan't retype. i shall post about other stuffs!

Camp is approaching. Some of you are scared of different stuffs that's going to happen in the camp. When i was a cadet, i was like all of you. Nervous, afraid and all. But that's how the seniors trained us. We grow and learn from there. But no doubt, we still feel nervous and afraid that when we have to be in contact with officers.

But through this, we know more of how a leader should act. Afraid and being nervous isn't what a leader should have in their mind. Overcome your fear of anything and everything, so that the camp would be fun and interesting!

Coming for this camp doesn't just mean that you will suffer and do all those punishments. Things can be look in a positive manner. For example, you can think that this camp will be a fun one because, you are able to create bonds with your fellow cadets who you are working with in years to come. Don't just look it as a PROMOTION and TRAINING camp! :D

Training to be leaders, you all have to be ready at all times. If you find problems arising, discuss with your members. At the end, be firm and decisive in your solutions to the problems. and NCOs-to-be, remember...
